Carers
Yes.
JCC is designed for independent carers who want full control over their work, rates, and clients.
If you’re not self-employed yet, we provide a beginner-friendly guide and checklists to help you register step-by-step.
Independent carers often earn significantly more than agency carers because there are no agency fees or commissions.
You set your own rates, and families agree them directly with you.
Families will be able to browse your profile and contact you directly.
With a Free Membership, your profile is visible and families can reach out.
With Pro, your profile appears with enhanced visibility and you get access to placement tools to help convert enquiries more easily.
By joining and sharing your new community, the client list will grow and it will be easier for self-employed carers to find the placements they want.

Upgrading is optional — you can start free and upgrade anytime.
Families
Usually it’s more affordable.
Families pay carers directly — no agency commissions — while carers earn more.
It creates a fair, transparent relationship on both sides.
Families typically save £2,800–£3,100 every month by choosing a self-employed carer instead of an agency.
Agencies take a large commission (often 40–60%), which pushes costs up.
Independent carers charge around £150–£160 per day (depending on level of care needed) which is fair for them and far more affordable for you.
For most families, this can mean a saving of around £37,000 a year, while your carer keeps 100% of their earnings.
You can use the following care calculator to work out your savings:
Create a free family account, search carers in your area, check their profiles, and make contact directly.
Free Family Accounts
Free members can view up to three carers per day, save favourites, and send one message per day.
This keeps our community safe, private and spam-free while still giving families full access to everything they need to make a confident choice.
Friendly, clear, non-restrictive.
Carers upload and manage their own documents.
We check the following are in date before membership is granted; however, we strongly encourage families to check:
DBS/police check
Insurance
ID
Right to work
Experience
References
We also provide a Family Safety Checklist so you know what to request.
Pro Carers also use the JCC client safety code system, giving families an extra layer of reassurance about their carer’s arrival and departure times.
Because you’re working with a self-employed carer, you simply follow the agreement you made together.
We don’t just show you a list of carers and hope for the best.
When you complete your Family Profile, we use our Cross-Reference Matching System to compare your needs with each carer’s skills, experience, availability and preferences.
This helps us identify carers who are likely to be a good fit for your loved one – based on real criteria like:
Location
Health needs (dementia, Parkinson’s, mobility, etc.)
Experience
Daily requirements
Pets and household preferences
Personality match
Budget
You stay fully in control of the final decision – but we make the shortlist process much easier, safer and more accurate.
